Foo Fighters have shared a new trailer for the band’s forthcoming horror-comedy film Studio 666. Directed by BJ McDonnell (Hatchet III), the movie will arrive in U.S. theaters on February 25th via Open Road Films.

Written by and starring Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, the film’s plot sees him and his fellow bandmates Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett, and Rami Jaffee move into a haunted mansion tucked in Los Angeles’ Encino neighborhood to record the band’s tenth studio album, Medicine At Midnight. While there, Grohl finds himself jostling with the supernatural, putting the completion of the album and the lives of the band at stake. No stranger to the silver screen, Grohl seems extremely comfortable in front of the camera in this trailer as he struggles to channel inspiration when writing songs and, ultimately, battles a demonic possession while terrorizing his housemates.

“After decades of ridiculous music videos and numerous music documentaries under our collective belts, it was finally time to take it to the next level… A full length feature horror comedy film,” said Grohl in a press release upon the movie’s announcement. “Like most things Foo, Studio 666 began with a far fetched idea that blossomed into something bigger than we ever imagined possible. Filmed at the same house where we recorded our latest album Medicine At Midnight (told you that place was haunted!) we wanted to recapture the classic magic that all of our favorite rock and roll movies had, but with a twist: hilarious gore that f*cking ROCKS.”

Studio 666 will also feature a loaded cast consisting of Whitney Cummings, Leslie Grossman, Will Forte, Jenna Ortega, and Jeff Garlin. The release will see a screenplay by Jeff Buhler and Rebecca Hughes, with producers John Ramsay (Roswell Films) and James A. Rota (Therapy Studios) signing on for the project as well.
