Format Festival will return for its sophomore outing in the Ozarks with LCD Soundsystem, Alanis Morissette, and Leon Bridges headlining the 2023 multi-disciplinary artistic summit. The festival is set for September 22nd–24th at Sugar Creek Airstrip in Bentonville, AR.
Format (For Music Art Technology) kicks off on Friday with LCD Soundsystem, Jamie XX, Little Simz, Digable Planets, Poolside (DJ set), LP Giobbi, Madeline Edwards, Kari Faux, Theon Cross, Myron Elkins, Ourim and more. The next night, Jagged Little Pill singer-songwriter Alanis Morisette tops the bill that also includes Modest Mouse, Big Wold, Poolside, Paul Cauthen, Green Velvet, The Pharcyde, Nikki Lane, Hermanos Gutiérrez, BLOND:ISH, Sudan Archives, and others. Finally, the second edition of Format Festival closes on Sunday with Leon Bridges, Tash Sultana, Bob Moses, Channel Tres, Franc Moody, Serpentwithfeet, Digitalism, Classixx, Pedrito Martinez, Arushi Jain, Francois K, and more.

In addition to three nights of music, Format Festival will offer a full-sensory experience with a multitude of installations. Visual and performing artists include Guerilla Girls, JR’s Inside Out Project, Kameelah Janah Rasheed, and many others. These artists will present an array of free-standing and large-scale pieces as well as artist-designed stages. Musical acts will perform in an array of unique and enveloping venues including The Cube, a dance club barn Drag Me To The Disco, a multi-room speakeasy Next Door | Nova Heat, and more. The private Sugar Creek Airstrip sits on 250 acres of forest-enclosed land and is just a six-minute drive from downtown Bentonville.
A pre-sale for tickets to Format Festival 2023 begins on Thursday at 10 a.m. CT. Fans can sign up for SMS access here. The festival will once again partner with the Bentonville Public Schools, which last year received more than $100,000 from the event’s debut.
