The boutique Fort Desolation Fest will return to the scenic red rocks of Torrey, UT from June 6th–8th, 2024, hosting three nights of music featuring headliners Black PumasSierra FerrellPaul Cauthen, and more.

Fort Desolation Fest will once again make its home at the Cougar Ridge Resort, just a few miles from Capitol Reef National Park, one of Utah’s “Mighty Five” national parks. The rest of the diverse lineup includes blues-rock trio The Record Company, rising Americana songstress Jaime Wyatt, folkgrass band The Lil Smokies, singer-songwriter Pokey LaFarge, front-porch blues three-piece The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band, and up-and-comers Olivia Wolf and Cory Mon.

As much as Fort Desolation is about the music, it’s also an outdoor adventure experience. Performances take place at night so that visitors can spend three days exploring the red rock cliffs, canyons, domes, and arches of the southern Utah landscape. Outdoor pursuits include fly-fishing, cycling, off-roading, cruising the Capitol Reef Scenic Drive, and much more. Back at the Cougar Ridge Resort, limited attendance makes for an intimate festival environment.

“It’s pretty simple, really: By keeping attendance down, you ensure people can move around comfortably, get close to the music—and order food, drinks or find a restroom without making it a major endeavor,” Jeremy Rawle, Fort Desolation Fest founder, said. “This has been a core value for us since we started, and our attendees have made it clear that they appreciate it.”

In pursuit of that mission of comfort, Fort Desolation Fest has doubled its camping space for 2024. The campgrounds at Fort Desolation have built a reputation over the years for the after-hours jams featuring festival artists, campsite cook-offs, and pristine stargazing in this International Dark Sky Community. Festival camping will extend into the new Sidewinder Campground which is just a short walk from the main stage. Also new in 2024, Fort Desolation will offer a glamping option for those who want the campground experience with the comforts of a luxury hotel. In addition to lodging in a Scandinavian-style tent, glampers will have access to a concierge lounge, baggage assistance, parking, morning coffee and pastry bar, and more.

Tickets and camping spots for Fort Desolation Fest 2024 go on sale to the public on Friday, February 2nd at 12 p.m. ET via the festival website. Local and traveling volunteers can exchange volunteer hours for a music pass and a spot in volunteer camping. Email info@fortdesolation.com for more information.
