On Wednesday, March 7th, the music of the Allman Brothers Band will be celebrated in full by the “Friends of the Brothers”, featuring members of the Gregg Allman, Dickey Betts, and Jaimoe bands as well as ABB biographer Alan Paul. Opening for the “Friends of the Brothers” will be DJ Williams’ Shots Fired, featuring members of Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Slightly Stoopid, and the Greyboy AllStars.

“Friends of the Brothers” originally started as a one-off show in March of 2017 as a tribute to Butch Trucks following his unexpected death in January. “I wanted to put together a tribute and thought of my dream lineup: Peter Levin (Gregg Allman), Andy Aledort (Dickey Betts) and Junior Mack (Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band). When they all said yes, we played a glorious night of music,” explained Alan Paul, author of the definitive Allman Brothers band biography One Way Out. “When Gregg died,” he explained before their second performance in October, “we all knew we had to get the band together again to honor our friends and the music we love so much.”

The “Friends of the Brothers” band includes keyboardist Peter Levin (Gregg Allman Band), guitarist and vocalist Junior Mack (Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band), guitarist and vocalist Andy Aledort (Dickey Betts Band), drummer Dave Diamond (Zen Tricksters), bassist Craig Privett (Half Step), and drummer Van Romaine (Dixie Dregs, Steve Morse Band). Appropriately, the band will celebrate the music of the Allman Brothers during March in New York, a nostalgia cherished by all diehard Allman Brothers Band fans as the time they used to congregate at the Beacon Theatre during the final years of the band’s career.
DJ Williams’ Shots Fired will feature Shira Elias (Turkuaz), Michelangelo Carruba (Turkuaz), Daniel Delacruz (Slightly Stoopid), Zac Najor (Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe), Darby Wolf (Rubblebucket), and Gordon Jones, guaranteeing an amazing night of music all around.
