A few years ago, Derek Trucks was in talks with Joe Cocker to revive the infamous Mad Dogs & Englishmen concept for a 2013 performance at Lockn’ Festival. The whole thing fell through, unfortunately, as Cocker was battling cancer. He passed away in December of 2014.

In honor of his storied career, the Tedeschi Trucks Band is bringing the Mad Dogs & Englishmen to Lockn’ 2015, and the band has just revealed the full lineup of performers that will be accompanying them in recreating some of the old magic. A number of original performers will be joining in, including Leon Russell, Rita Coolidge, Claudia Lennear, Bobby Jones and more.

Additionally, an all-star cast of musicians including Dave Mason, Alecia Chakour, Chris Robinson, Doyle Bramhall II, Anders Osborne, and more will all be contributing to this one-time-only performance.

Mad Dogs & Englishmen was released as a live album in 1970, after a haphazard tour with an exceptionally large ensemble of musicians. Perhaps no better band can honor that legacy than the Tedeschi Trucks Band, who regularly tour with a 12-piece ensemble.

You can see the full “Mad Dogs” lineup below, which was curated (and will be led) by the Tedeschi Trucks Band.
