The two-night, four-show March 2021 edition of The Funk Sessions kicked off last night with a pair of dance parties at Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom in Denver, CO. In addition to a socially distant in-person audience, the late Funk Sessions performance was streamed via Nugs.net for fans across the country, with proceeds benefiting Conscious Alliance. You can donate at any time via FunkSessions.com.
This month’s Funk Sessions lineup continues the series’ trend of all-star lineups with an exciting septet comprised of vocalist Corey Frye (The Main Squeeze), guitarist Craig Brodhead (Turkuaz), drummer Nikki Glaspie (The Nth Power), bassist Kevin Scott (Col. Bruce Hampton, Jimmy Herring), keyboardist Joey Porter (The Motet), saxophonist Drew Sayers (The Motet), and trumpeter Eric Benny Bloom (Lettuce).
For those who missed the stream last night, you’ll have one more chance to stream the final March Funk Sessions show live tonight, Friday, March 12th, beginning at 10 p.m. MT / 12 a.m. ET. Donate any amount to Conscious Alliance via FunkSessions.com to receive a link to the Friday livestream. For more information, head here.
