As previously reported, last week Bob Weir suffered a fall on stage during a Furthur show at The Capitol Theater in Port Chester, NY, forcing Weir to retreat backstage while the rest of the band carried on without him. While Weir returned to the road with the band for following performances, Furthur has been forced to cancel their headlining performance at the brand new BottleRock Festival in Napa Valley, CA, citing Weir’s health. An official statement from Weir’s TRI Studios is below:

“”Grateful Dead and Furthur co-founder Bob Weir is unable to perform in any capacity for the next several weeks. Bob looks forward to resuming his ‘Weir Here’ broadcasts from TRI Studios in mid-to-late June and performing his solo acoustic shows June 26th-30th.”

BottleRock is still scheduled to resume as plans, and, according to the festival’s Facebook page, organizers are assessing options for a replacement for Thursday night’s line up.
