Philadelphia-bred singer-songwriter G. Love (aka Garrett Dutton) has announced a new studio album, The Juice, due out on January 17th via Philadelphonic/Thirty Tigers.
Produced by Grammy Award-winning blues artist Keb’ Mo’, the forthcoming 11-track LP features guest contributions from Robert Randolph, Marcus King, Roosevelt Collier, and more. The Juice blends elements of blues, jazz, rock, funk, and soul with hip-hop grooves and electronic beats, showcasing G. Love’s genre-bending stylistic background.
Along with the album announcement, G. Love has shared the title track, “The Juice”, featuring young guitar wizard Marcus King. G. Love shared his thoughts on the new song via press release. He explained,
I wrote this song as a personal knee jerk reaction to the frustration I feel towards the policies which the current right wing administration is pushing forward. I also wanted to give strength, support, empathy and energy to the protest kids and activists who are in the trenches fighting to uphold liberal progress.
