Israeli psytrance quartet G-Nome Project has released live video capturing the group’s electro-rock “G-Mix” of AC/DC classic “Thunderstruck” from a recent show at in Richmond, VA. While storms battered Richmond on the night of the show—perhaps inspiring the “Thunderstruck” selection—the band still managed to electrify a sizable crowd at The Camel.

As with the majority of the band’s recent tour, G-Nome’s Yakir Hyman (guitar), Eyal Salomon (keys), Zechariah Reich (bass), and Eran Asias (drums) treated the Richmond show like a family affair. In addition to the “hometown” element for guitarist Yakir Hyman, who grew up in Richmond, the show featured sit-ins from lespecial bassist Luke Bemand and drummer Rory Dolan.

Other notable sit-ins from the Get Pumped! tour included Aqueous guitarist Mike Gantzer in Buffalo, both Cool Cool Cool guitarist Craig Brodhead and NYC-based vocalist Brittany Beckett in Cleveland, and Pigeons Playing Ping Pong guitarist Jeremy Schon in Baltimore. After the slew of notable guest appearances, G-Nome played the final two shows of the outing—in Manchester, NH and Philadelphia, PA—to sold-out crowds.

While pulse-raising improv and progressive dance-funk compositions have earned the outfit a devoted following through the years, G-Nome Project is primed to ride this latest wave of momentum into a fruitful new chapter: A new G-Nome G-Mix of Willy Wonka favorite “Pure Imagination” is due to arrive on streaming services on Friday, January 13th [pre-save here], with a full album set to follow in early 2023.
