On Monday, Crescent City funk favorites Galactic have detailed their traditional New Year’s Eve blowout at Tipitina’s, the venue they recently purchased after years of frequenting it both on stage and in the audience. Galactic will be joined by vocalist Anjelika “Jelly” Joseph at the New Year’s blowout. Memphis-bred blues and soul quintet Southern Avenue will handle the opening duties.

The recent release of their 10th studio album, Already Ready Alreadymarked the band’s first new studio LP in more than three years. On Already Ready Already, Galactic—comprised of  Jeff Raines (guitar), Stanton Moore (drums), Robert Mercurio (bass), Ben Ellman (saxophone/harmonica), and Richard Vogel (keyboards)—takes a more contemporary approach than fans have come to expect, connecting elements of modern rhythms and electronic instrumentation with their Big Easy funk roots.

Galactic is offering a special VIP pass for the upcoming NYE hometown blowout, which will include food by Jacques-Imo‘s, open bar from 9 p.m. until midnight, a champagne toast, access to VIP side entrance to the venue, access to VIP viewing section, a signed limited-edition Galactic poster, and Tipitina’s merchandise.
