Today, we are excited to premiere the official lyric video for the new Ghost Hounds single, “Til It’s Gone”. The track appears on the Pittsburgh-based rockers’ forthcoming studio album, Roses Are Black, which is set to arrive on November 5th. The album was mixed by six-time Grammy Award-winning producer Vance Powell (Chris Stapleton, The White Stripes, Danger Mouse, Arctic Monkeys, Kings of Leon) and engineered by Eddie Kramer (Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin).

“Til It’s Gone” features special guests David Grissom (guitar), Resse Wynans (keyboards) and Kenny Aaronoff (drums). Like most of the music on the album, the song was co-written by Ghost Hounds guitarist Thomas Tull, Grissom, and Kevin Bowe, who has worked with Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Jonny Lang, and others.

“The only way I know how to write a song is come up with a title, what it’s about, whose perspective and the feel I want it to have,” says Tull of the track. “That’s what I did here. I had a primary riff written in an open tuning and I wanted the song to have an open feeling and tremendous momentum – the kind of song you’d want to hear on the radio when you’re driving on a beautiful road, and I think we captured that.”

Roses Are Black begins a new chapter in Ghost Hounds’ nearly 15-year story. Tull initially formed the band during the mid-2000s in Los Angeles, releasing a self-titled, Nile Rodgers-produced album in 2009. The group disbanded as Tull’s focus shifted elsewhere—from starting a family to guiding his production company, Legendary Entertainment, to success with films such as the Christopher Nolan/Christian Bale Batman trilogy, the Jurassic World series, Straight Outta Compton, an The Hangover, along with comics, digital media and other ventures. However, after selling Legendary in 2016, Tull still had the desire to, in the words of one of his songs, “push that old rock (and roll) back up the hill.”
