Ghost Light returned on Friday with a new single, “Don’t Say Goodnight Just Yet”. Out now, the studio track arrives as the quintet prepares to mount its first full-fledged tour since the onset of the pandemic.

“Don’t Say Good Night Just Yet” arrives as Ghost Light’s first new studio release since its 2019 debut Best Kept Secrets. The song’s reflective lyrics hear guitarist/vocalist Raina Mullen look back on the past two years “Locked inside of the same routine/Sky of grey likely to go unseen.” Out of that darkness, however, day begins to break on the horizon and we’re instructed “Don’t you say goodnight just yet/The suns about to rise.” Meanwhile, the song’s music video follows the tour van throw the winding, snow-covered backroads of Pennsylvania.

The song was recorded with the Ghost Light lineup of guitarists/vocalists Raina Mullen and Tom Hamilton, bassist Dan Africano, drummer Scotty Zwang, and keyboardist Holly Bowling. Africano has since left the band with his position filled by Taylor Shell (formerly of Turkuaz).

“Don’t Say Goodnight Just Yet” Lyrics

Locked inside of the same routine
Sky of grey likely to go unseen
Eye to eye hand to waist
No one gets inside your safe
All the wrong keys to the place
I’ve seen a glimpse and I don’t like the after taste

Don’t you say goodnight just yet
The suns about to rise
Drank up every word you said
I liked living the lie
If only for a time

Burning chest, feet are quickening
Two lost souls, one is crumbling
Eye to eye hand to mouth
Tears will fall to end the drought
On a constant walkabout
I’m not sure show much longer I can hold out hold out

Tug of war, circle game, nevermore, bloody shame
