Ghost Liotta, the experimental electronic project comprised of James McAlister (The National), Christopher Wray (Butch Walker), Zac Rae (Death Cab For Cutie), and John Spiker (Tenacious D) has shared their second single entitled, “i am thoughts”.
The new instrumental released on Thursday follows July’s “object one” as the second single which will appear on the group’s forthcoming self-titled debut album, due out on August 21st. The moody instrumental hears the group explore ambient dissonance and chillwave-like expressions as held down by firmly rung-out piano chords, cryptic synth lines, and a steady rhythm. Their music does push the possibilities of electronic-inspired melodies and song arrangements but never overreaches and stays within enjoying listening boundaries.

The band initially formed back in 2017 when the various musicians congregated at Zac Rae’s studio to record a series of improvised music. Due to a fire, those sessions were never fully completed until recently when the audio files were rediscovered and given to John Spiker.
