Maine-based holler-folk outfit The Ghost of Paul Revere hit an early, devastating obstacle on the first of the band’s 2022 tour. On February 24th, after driving more than 2,000 miles to Denver, CO to kick off the trek, the band’s trailer was stolen from the back parking lot of an Aurora, CO hotel.

The band has set up a GoFundMe page to help recoup the cost of the stolen trailer and its contents, which included gear, merch, a drum set, and more.

As the group explained in a statement on the GoFundMe page, “Without these things, we are left without the tools to provide for ourselves and our families and do what makes us happiest in life, play music. You can also support the band’s efforts by catching a show on the ongoing Western tour with Early James, which the band intends to complete despite the loss of the trailer. Looking toward the future, The Ghost of Paul Revere has also announced the 2022 lineup for its annual Ghostland Festival, due to take place at Portland, ME’s Thompson’s Point on September 3rd. The latest edition of the group’s hometown festival will feature performances by Hiss Golden Messenger, Marco Benevento, and GoldenOak.

As The Ghost of Paul Revere’s Max Davis (banjo/vocals) said about the festival, “Ghostland started as a selfish endeavor to enjoy the people, music, and place that we love. Our life on the road as a touring band was making it harder and harder to be in our home state of Maine, and to see the family, friends, and music that defines us. The best solution, we thought, was to host a yearly celebration of those things.”

“For me personally, and similarly to our music, the festival has resonated with me in a multitude of ways as it has grown and progressed over the years,” he continued. “In a general form, it is a point of pride, for both a representation of this band, and of our community. It’s constantly, and consistently, a huge form of inspiration that carries me.”

“It’s still astounding that we’re gearing up for our 5th Ghostland festival,” added Griffin Sherry (guitar/vocals). It has changed and morphed over the years , as we have, but its heart and core goal remains true: bring together the community and the music we love. Each year it grows in unimaginable ways as each year we make new friends and memories.”

Any tickets purchased for the axed Ghost of Paul Revere 2021 New Year’s Eve shows are now valid for admission to Ghostland at Thompson’s Point on 9/3/22.
