The Ghost of Paul Revere has shared details on the 2020 installment of the band’s annual Ghostland festival, set to return to Portland, ME to close summer over Labor Day Weekend on September 4th-5th.
Confirmed by the Maine-native trio and event organizers on Tuesday, this year’s Ghostland will treat attendees to performances throughout the weekend from its hometown host band, along with Deer Tick, The Mallett Brothers Band, Mipso, and Bell Systems.
Additionally, The Ghost of Paul Revere will hold their Friday night performance at Port City Music Hall with support from Mipso, where they will deliver one set of originals and one special cover set, with details on the latter TBD. Tickets for the Friday show are only available with the purchase of a Ghostland 2-day GA or VIP pass. Saturday will see performances from Deer Tick, The Mallett Brothers Band, and Bell Systems at Thompson’s Point.
Originally started back in 2014, Ghostland continues to grow and evolve into one of the premier regional music events in Maine every summer. The band’s connection to their home state was permanently set when Maine officials declared the band’s 2015 song, “Ballad Of The 20th Maine”, as the “Official State Ballad of Maine.”
“In 2014, we decided to deviate from the normal course of an up and coming band and create and curate our own, homegrown music festival. We parked cars, set up port-a-potties, cooked dinner for the bands and started Ghostland. From day one, we wanted to create an experience for our community, inspired and built upon the very music we cherished,” The Ghost of Paul Revere singer/guitarist Griffin Sherry said of their 2020 event. “Now, six years later, Ghostland has become bigger than ever. We have an opportunity to bring in bands we truly admire, elevate local causes and businesses to a huge audience, and establish a gathering for our friends, family, and community that will hopefully outlast us. We strive, every year, for a bigger and more memorable experience than the last and hope that the love we have for this music, this community, and this state continues to grow Ghostland into one of the great American music gatherings.”
