Last month, The Ghost of Paul Revere released the single “Love At Your Convenience”, along with a live-action music video. Today, the Americana-folk outfit shares a newly reimagined, illustrated interpretation of the single that has already become a fan favorite, premiering exclusively through Live For Live Music.

On “Love At Your Convenience”, the foot-stomping, boot-hollering stylings of GoPR give way to some serious, contemplative songwriting. As the title suggests, the song confronts the notion that somebody’s love can merely be picked up and put back down at somebody’s convenience. Throughout the song, singer Griffin Sherry repeats the phrase “I said I told you, I’m sorry/And I ain’t coming back.”

Of course, what’s new here are the visuals, not the lyrics. Throughout the new animated video, created by Dreambear, the group employs a mix of abstract and straightforward imagery to a beating heart, a long and winding road, a lighthouse, and a lantern. The lyrics for “Love At Your Convenience” already tell the song’s story, so the new animated video is able to use such symbolism; the point is clear enough as the words flash onscreen.

“‘Love at Your Convenience’ is a song about coping with the emotions of leaving someone you love. We wanted the arrangement to be powerful and the vocals visceral, so we looked to inspiration from bands like the Pixies, Led Zeppelin, Local Natives, and The Band,” guitarist/singer Griffin Sherry said of the song when it first came out. “‘Love at Your Convenience’ was the first of these new songs we worked on the road, and it has already become one of the most requested songs at our shows. I believe it’s the emotion we captured, playing to that universal understanding of heartbreak, that resonates with people when they hear it.”
