As we have previously reported, Superfly Presents, the company behind Bonnaroo and Outside Lands Festival, is bringing The Great Googa Mooga festival to Brooklyn’s Prospect Park.  The festival, focusing specifically on food and music, will take place May 19th and 20th. Today, Superfly released the official announcement, releasing the exciting first official details of the event.

According to the official website, the festival will feature “approximately 75 food vendors, 35 brewers, 30 winemakers, and 20 live music performances”. One other major detail that was revealed will likely make potential attendees extremely happy – this festival will be completely free of admission charges. All you have to do is register one their website, and you receive a free ticket – extremely helpful when you’ll be emptying your wallet trying all the food and beer vendors.

While Superfly is being tight lipped on the list of live performers, only confirming a DJ set from LCD Soundystem’s James Murphy, and a routine of stand up comedy from Aziz Ansari of Parks and Recreation fame. The list of food personalities, however, reads like the Coachella of the Food Network. In that vein, it includes:

The Great Googa Mooga is also offering an ‘Extra Mooga’ package – described as “a festival-within-a-festival” includes in the wooded areas of Prospect Park. The package, which will go on sale for $249.99 a ticket per day, includes a wide variety of extras, including: All inclusive unlimited food, inclusive beer, wine, and exclusive cocktails, a special viewing area of the Main Stage, exclusive entertainment from Anthony Bourdain, Aziz Ansari, and James Murphy, and themed parties such as “Marcus Samuelsson’s 1920 Harlem Renaissance Party”.
