Fast-rising CT jam-rock outfit Goose has released Shenanigans Nite Club, the band’s second-ever studio album and first since the release of Moon Cabin more than five years ago.

The album was preceded by the release of three singles, “Spirit of the Dark Horse“, “Madhuvan“, and “So Ready”, the latter of which arrived alongside an animated music video.

Shenanigans Nite Club was produced and engineered by Kenny Cash at Factory Underground Studio. Cash, a longtime Goose collaborator, is responsible for crafting the band’s refined studio sound. After handling all recording and mixing duties for Goose since the band’s inaugural project, Moon Cabin, Cash played an integral role in pushing Shenanigans Nite Club yet another step further.

“The Shenanigans Nite Club album has been quite an endeavor – almost 5 years now,” said Cash. “While in many ways Moon Cabin was a blueprint to what Goose could be, Shenanigans is a great reflection of what Goose is: a group of great musicians that love to compose, write, experiment, jam, focus, and overall execute,” he added.

An ode to oft-forgotten remnants of Goose’s musical journey, both personal and collective, the nine-track Shenanigans Nite Club is the culmination of a long and rich history between friends of differing ages and experiences from the same small town in Connecticut, drawn together through a deep love of music and storytelling. Songs like the tectonic “Labyrinth” and the reflective “SOS” traverse genres fluidly with catchy choruses, technical musical prowess, and the kind of rare chemistry only possible among truly close collaborators.

“Our dream is to inspire people to step off the beaten path,” said guitarist/vocalist Rick Mitarotonda. “There are a lot of voices that tell you to play it safe. I think the coolest thing in the world is when someone breaks free and goes for whatever weird shit they dream of doing.”

Goose – Shenanigans Nite Club – Full Album

Goose—comprised of Mitarotonda, bassist Trevor Weekz, guitarist/keyboardist/vocalist Peter Anspach, drummer Ben Atkind, and percussionist Jeff Arevalo—will support Shenanigans Nite Club with a lengthy run of tour dates and festival appearances this summer.

Goose will also serve as the anchor of the newly announced FRED The Festival, the band’s dedicated festival weekend at the LOCKN’ Farm in Arrington, VA, on August 20th–22nd.

Much like Shenanigans Nite Club, the festival’s lineup will feature many of the musical elements that got Goose to this point as well as a slew of other exciting artists.

The lineup will host four sets of Goose, as well as Dawes (one original set and a Black Sabbath Paranoid set), Cory WongDr. Dog, Grateful Shred (x2), Hiss Golden MessengerSammy Rae & The FriendsaGOOSEtic Trio, and more.

The event will also feature some notable reunions, including Goose predecessor Vasudo which features Rick Mitarotonda (guitar, vocals), Matt Campbell (keys, vocals), Peter Anspach (keys, vocals) Trevor Weekz (bass), and Jeff Arevalo (drums).

Also on tap to reunite for FRED The Festival is ElephantProof, the four-piece jazz/funk/EDM project formed at Berklee College of Music by Ben Atkind (drums), Sean Cronin (guitar), Shon Gordon (bass), and Chris Enright (keys), who will perform a late-night set.

“Last year, we were booked at LOCKN’ and we were so excited to perform on that legendary stage for the first time. We were all pretty disappointed after the festival was canceled so it’s an honor to be invited back to the farm for our own event,” Peter Anspach said in a statement. “Along with an amazing lineup of incredible bands, we have a ton of surprises planned and we can’t wait for all of you to #getinvolved.”

Tickets for Goose’s FRED The Festival go on sale today, June 4th, here.
