On Tuesday, Goose shared pro-shot footage of night one of the band’s two-night Halloween stint at South Farms, which took place on November 6th. Ahead of the full concert release, Goose also highlighted the rarity “It Burns Within” which got pulled out of the bag at the same Morris, CT show.
Though debuted back in 2014, “It Burns Within” hasn’t been played since Rick Mitarotonda and Peter Asnpach‘s acoustic set with now-member Jeffery Arevalo on April 26th, 2020. Prior to that, the song had not been seen since the first Göosemas on December 22nd, 2014, per Jon “Coach” Lombardi.

The campy, barroom tune came in at the midpoint of set one. The bust out was in good company during the Connecticut-bred quintet’s Halloween run, as it came in alongside a bevy of debuts and fellow blasts from the past. With a lean 6:30-minute runtime, the song doesn’t offer too much in the way of big jams. Rather, it provides an enlightening view into the band’s early songwriting days.
