Goose Continues “Lead Up” To New Album, ‘Everything Must Go’, With Sophomore Single [Listen]

Goose gave fans a another taste of the band’s new LP, Everything Must Go, with the release of the album’s second single, “Lead Up”.

Combining a dynamic, mid-tempo groove and contemplative lyrics, the new track began as a melancholic meditation on regret, indecision, and the passage of time written by guitarist Rick Mitarotonda during his early teenage years.

“It was a way for me to explore feelings that I didn’t really understand at the time,” Mitarotonda explained. “Sometimes as you get older it becomes valuable reflecting on things from that time in your life, and how pure and unadulterated expressions can be then.”

The new single may sound familiar to fans, as Goose has performed it live more than two dozen times since its debut at The Capitol Theatre in March 2023. After honing it on the road, the band brings the song to fruition with polished production, giving it the studio treatment for the group’s first album since 2022’s Dripfield.

Goose recently expanded its Everything Must Go Summer Tour with additional headline dates beginning May 30th at Bend, OR’s Hayden Homes Amphitheater. Among the newly added shows are two-night stands at Chesterfield, MO’s The Factory (June 10th–11th) and Cleveland, OH’s Jacobs Pavilion (June 24th–25th), plus a special homecoming concert at New Haven, CT’s Westville Music Bowl on June 29th. The band is also set to make its headlining debut at Madison Square Garden on June 28th after performing at the venue for the first time during the star-studded SOULSHINE event benefiting hurricane relief and recovery in North Carolina and Florida.
