Goose has released its first show at Denver, CO’s Mission Ballroom on streaming services. The November 21st performance marked one of the last shows on the band’s 2021 fall tour.

Coming on the first night of a back-to-back at Denver’s premier, 3,950 capacity music venue, Goose treated fans in the Mile-High City to two sets of mostly original material, with only two covers appearing throughout the night. Set one began with a track from the Peter Anspach (keys/guitar/vocals) songbook, “Earthling or Alien?”, which paired well with the Rick Mitarotonda-sung “Echo Of A Rose” that followed.

A lengthy “All I Need” fell in the three-hole as the 90-minute set blazed through its midpoint. This well-jammed telling found its home in an emotional “Indian River” before a segue to the penultimate “Wysteria Lane”. After closing set one with “Rockdale”, the Connecticut-based five-piece returned with “Slow Ready”, the slower, synth-laden version of “So Ready”. “The Old Man’s Boat” set up another four-on-the-floor dance groove, “Creatures”, which stretched for over 15-minutes before linking up with “Tumble”.

Goose channeled The Moody Blues for its next offering, “Nights In White Satin”, which the band originally debuted back on January 25th, 2020 at Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, NY, before closing set two with the Anspach-penned “White Lights”. With time for a couple more, the quintet took a short encore break before taking the stage once more at Mission Ballroom and delivering Steppenwolf‘s “Magic Carpet Ride”—debuted just a few weeks earlier during the band’s Halloween run at Worcester, MA’s Palladium (10/31)—and “Jive Lee”, the instrumental cut from the “Jive” suite of songs.
