Earlier this week, Goose traveled to Frederick Fairground in Frederick, MD for the latest stop on their ongoing run of outdoor and drive-in performances during the ongoing fall months. The 12-song, two-set drive-in show on Monday (10/18) night treated attendees to a mix of originals and a pair of covers including the band’s take on “AUATC”, a new tune released by Bon Iver earlier this year which featured cameos from Jenny Lewis and Bruce Springsteen. Goose’s cover of “AUATC” halfway through the first set didn’t feature the aforementioned guests, unfortunately, but the band has now shared their pro-shot video footage of the song’s performance.

The 7:14 minute cover of the indie rock ballad saw guitarist Rick Mitarotonda take lead vocal duties while Peter Anspach helped provide plenty of added substance on the piano. Though Goose is known primarily as a guitar band, Anspach had no trouble delivering a glistening solo on keys during the song’s mid-section. Mitarotonda eventually joined in on the solo to make for a fantastic one-two punch during its climax before returning to the lyrical portion to close the performance.
