Goose treated their fans to a musical gift in the final minutes of Christmas Day on Wednesday, as the rock group shared the surprise release of a new studio single, “Wysteria Lane”.

The song’s midnight arrival late Wednesday night caps off what has been a huge breakout year for the Connecticut-based quartet, as it also gives the band some new music to work with as they charge into 2020.

The five-minute recording opens with a relaxed groove before the first verse finally comes in at the :51-second mark. The lyrics to the easygoing song hear the band explore themes and unique ideas like, “Floating on a marshmallow sea,” and “Returning from the future with phosphorescent glow/Knowledge is the pathway to each and every soul.”

The song was recorded this past October at Carriage House in Stamford, CT.

The band recently hosted its sixth-annual “Goosemas holiday celebration in their hometown of Norwalk, CT this past weekend. “Wysteria Lane” bookended a massive second set at the event which saw two new original debuts, Christmas-themed cover debuts, and bust-outs of some of the band’s earliest material. Goose will now have the next few weeks off to rest after what has been a busy fall for the increasingly popular act.

Fans will have plenty of opportunities to hear the new “Wysteria Lane” live when Goose kicks off a lengthy cross country tour early next year, which includes 13 West Coast dates with Pigeons Playing Ping Pong. The tour will begin on January 24th at The Bowery Ballroom in New York City and continues through April.
