CT-based quartet Goose has been rapidly rising in the jam world of late, selling out increasingly larger shows around the country. On Tuesday, the band announced an extensive string of concert dates that will kick off their 2020 touring schedule. The 25-date tour includes thirteen west coast dates supporting fellow “bird band,” Pigeons Playing Ping Pong. The run with PPPP marks Goose’s first “migration” west in the band’s five-year history.
Immediately following Goose’s west coast run with Pigeons, the band will set sail on the Rock Legends Cruise, a five-day nautical music festival headlined by Roger Daltrey (The Who), Paul Rogers (Bad Company, Queen), Roger Hodgson (Supertramp), and Robby Krieger (The Doors). The floating fest will also feature Jonny Lang, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Larkin Poe, Brandon “Taz” Niederauer, and more.
Following a brief break, Goose tour will resume with the band’s previously announced show at The Caverns in Pelham, TN on March 27th, which will be taped for the upcoming tenth season of PBS‘s Bluegrass Underground. The Bluegrass Underground spot will mark Goose’s first TV appearance.
From there, the tour will continue into April with the first Goose shows in North Carolina since the summer of 2018 on April 16th in Asheville and April 17h in Raleigh. Following visits to Baltimore (4/19), Syracuse (4/22), and Philadelphia (4/23), Goose will wrap their spring tour with a two-night run at Allston, MA’s Brighton Music Hall on April 25th and 26th.
“We have been getting all kinds of requests to play on the West Coast and in the Southeast over the past few months,” says guitarist/keyboardist/vocalist Peter Anspach in a press release, “So it feels great to finally give those folks some love.”
