Goose capped off a historic weekend and summer tour on Saturday with one last show at Westville Music Bowl in New Haven, CT. The concert was essentially a homecoming for the band born some 30 miles away in Wilton, CT, and came on the heels of Goose’s Madison Square Garden headlining debut on Friday.
Goose and its fans came into the outdoor tennis stadium riding high off the MSG show. The band blew well past its curfew at The World’s Most Famous Arena the night prior, not ending the show until around 12:30 a.m., but Rick Mitarotonda, Peter Anspach, Trevor Weekz, and Cotter Ellis showed no signs of fatigue as they sprinted across the finish line of their Everything Must Go Tour.
After devoting much of the MSG setlist to the band’s latest album, Everything Must Go, Goose went heavy on covers at Westville. A show-opening “Yeti” turned into a jam sandwich with Foster the People‘s “Pumped Up Kicks” stuck between the two halves of “Yeti”. That was just the beginning, as the first frame also included dream pop band POLIÇA‘s “Amongster” and teases of Ozzy Osbourne‘s “Crazy Train” from Rick in the set-closing “SALT”.

For the second set, Goose moved through originals “Big Modern!” and “Madhuvan” before a double shot of disparate covers on Devo‘s “Whip It” and Creedence Clearwater Revival‘s “Suzie Q”. The nearly uninterrupted set continued by flowing into “Same Old Shenanigans” ahead of the frame’s only stoppage in play, setting up a closing pairing of “Slow Ready” and the recently debuted “fast:slow”. To close out, Goose had one more cover as the band finished the show with a dance party on ’80s synth-pop hit “You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)”.
As if a trio of tour-closing shows in New Hampshire, New York, and Connecticut wasn’t enough excitement, Goose also announced the 2026 return of Viva El Gonzo. The band’s destination festival will come back to Hotel El Gonzo in San José Del Cabo, Mexico, from May 7th to 9th, 2026. Goose will perform three nights, though the band has yet to announce any other artists.
GA festival tickets, TED and Super TED VIP tickets, and travel packages go on sale to Viva El Gonzo alumni today, June 30th, a 1 p.m. ET. Tickets and packages for Goose Viva El Gonzo 2026 will go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, July 1st at 1 p.m. ET.
