Gov’t Mule has announced an initial run of ten spring 2023 headlining tour dates. The Warren Haynes-led blues-rock quartet’s initial batch of spring tour dates also includes slots at a number of prominent festivals.
The tour will begin in New Orleans, LA with a special evening at the Orpheum Theater featuring support from George Porter Jr. & Runnin’ Pardners on May 5th.
From there, Haynes (guitar, lead vocals), Matt Abts (drums), Danny Louis (keys, guitar, backing vocals), and Jorgen Carlsson (bass) will stop in Memphis for a set at Beale Street Music Festival (5/6) and make their way to Cleveland, OH (5/9) and Ashland, KY (5/11) ahead of a May 12th show and Nashville, TN’s famed Ryman Auditorium.
Following a stop at the inaugural Echoland Music Festival at Live Oak, FL’s Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park on May 13th, Gov’t Mule will continue through the southern states with shows in Birmingham, AL (5/14), Macon, GA (5/16), and Augusta, GA (5/18) before rounding out the run with a two-night home stand in Asheville, NC (5/19, 5/20). Other upcoming dates include a July 23rd performance at Patchogue, NY’s Great South Bay Music Festival.
The tour will mark the return of Warren Haynes to the Gov’t Mule stage after a bout with COVID-19 and Influenza A caused the band to postpone its 2022 New Year’s shows. Haynes remained on the mend during the band’s January 2023 Island Exodus event in Jamaica, prompting Gov’t Mule to bring in a slew of substitute musicians.
Artist pre-sale tickets will be available Friday, March 3rd at 10 a.m. ET with local/promoter pre-sale beginning Monday, March 6th at 10 a.m. local time.
