Gov’t Mule will ring in 2024 with a three-night, two-city New Year’s Eve run “Celebrating 30 Years of The Mule”. The concerts will mark the Warren Haynes-led band’s first hard ticket performances since its 30 Years Strong tour in February and first performances of any kind since its guest-filled headlining set at Daze Between New Orleans in early May.

The 2024 Gov’t Mule New Year’s run will begin on Saturday, December 28th at College Street Music Hall in New Haven, CT. Then, Haynes, drummer Matt Abts, keyboardist Danny Louis, and bassist Kevin Scott will travel to New York City to close the year with two nights at The Beacon Theatre, the longtime home of the band’s New Year’s shows dating back to 2002.

“It’s hard to believe it’s been 30 years,” Hayne said in a statement. “It’s also hard to believe we’ve been celebrating New Year’s together for over 20 years. These are always such special shows for us. I’m looking forward to being with the band revisiting some of the stuff we haven’t played in a long, long time and, of course, being with our incredible fans.”

VIP tickets for the Gov’t Mule 2024 New Year’s run will go on sale Wednesday, September 18th at 12 p.m. ET through Tickets Today, followed by local and partner pre-sales on Thursday, September 19th at 12 p.m. Tickets will then go on sale to the general public Friday, September 20th at 12 p.m. VIP tickets include reserved seating, access to soundcheck, a limited edition signed poster, and more. While 2024 marked Mule’s 30th anniversary, guitarist Warren Haynes has kept busy with some of his other many projects. Over the summer, he reactivated his eponymous Warren Haynes Band for its first U.S. shows in over a decade. He also took the retooled lineup of John Medeski, Terence Higgins, and Scott into the studio (along with some other notable guests including Derek Trucks) to record a new album, Million Voices Whisper, out November 1st. Along with the Warren Haynes Band, the multi-hyphenate’s summer tour included performances by the revamped Dreams and Songs Symphonic Experience featuring orchestral renderings of classic songs by the Grateful DeadAllman Brothers BandJerry Garcia, Gov’t Mule, and other songbooks on which Haynes has left his mark.
