Regarded by Deadheads as perhaps the most iconic of all Grateful Dead performances, the Dead’s May 8, 1977 concert at Cornell University’s Barton Hall in Ithaca, New York will be celebrated, on the 40th anniversary, May 8, 2017, at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY

After bootleg versions circulated for decades among fans, the powerful 1977 performance will receive the celebration it deserves for its first official release and 40th anniversary. The crisp recording will be played in full concert sound on The Cap’s state-of-the-art sound system.

The official recording, which will be released by Rhino Entertainment on May 5, 2017, will be available for purchase at the event. In addition, Rhino will be giving away free merchandise and music releases, along with Larry Reichman, the Barton Hall show’s “official” photographer presenting never-before-seen images from the concert projected on The Cap’s walls.

Advance tickets are $6.50, the same price as they were 40 years ago on the now extremely scarce and desirable ticket stub. They go on sale Friday, April 7 at 12PM.
