Last Thursday, Deadheads took over movie theaters across the country during the special 4/20 screening of The Grateful Dead Movie for its 40th anniversary. In addition to movie, fans got a sneak peak at the highly anticipated, new Grateful Dead documentary, Long Strange Trip, directed by by Amir Bar-Lev and produced by Martin Scorsese and a viewing of a new mini-documentary titled The Grateful Dead: Cornell ’77. The mini-documentary runs a little under ten minutes and is focused on the legendary Dead show on May 8th, 1997 at Cornell University’s Barton Hall in Ithaca, New York.

The mini-documentary has interviews with fans who share their experiences at the famed show and who describe what made the Cornell ’77 show so electric. You can check out the documentary below, which was shared on the Grateful Dead and Rhino Records, while you wait for Long Strange Trip to be released to the general public via Amazon streaming services later in the year.
