The weekly Grateful Dead Shakedown Stream archive concert webcast series returns this Friday, July 10th. For this week’s webcast, the band will revisit a show that took place 30 years ago to the day with their July 10th, 1990 performance at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, NC. This week’s online event will also begin with a pre-show Q&A with Dead & Company guitarist John Mayer as hosted by David Lemieux and Gary Lambert.

The unreleased performance took place just weeks prior to the passing of longtime pianist Brent Mydland, who would die from an accidental overdose on July 26th, 1990, just days after the Dead’s summer tour ended. The performance that night saw the band revisit some of their older material and fan favorites including “Jaw Straw”, “Friend of the Devil”, “Bird Song”, “Uncle John’s Band”, and an encore closer of “Brokedown Palace”.
