The Grateful Dead‘s Shakedown Stream archive concert webcast series returns this Friday, July 24th. For this week’s broadcast, the band will revisit their September 29th, 1989 performance at Mountain View, California’s Shoreline Amphitheatre beginning with a pre-stream chat with hosts David Lemieux and Gary Lambert alongside special guest David Crosby.

As JamBase notes, the previously unreleased show marked the Dead’s first rendition of “Death Don’t Have No Mercy” after a gap of 19 years. Friday’s webcast marks the third Shakedown Stream highlighting one of the Dead’s Shoreline Amphitheatre performances over the years, following the broadcasts of 10/2/87 and 5/11/91 last month.

As with each Shakedown Stream webcast, the band encourages fans to donate what money they can to a selected non-profit, which this week is the non-partisan voter registration organization HeadCount.
