On Wednesday, Greensky Bluegrass offered up a performance at Des Moines, IA’s Brenton Skating Plaza as part of their ongoing nationwide 2019 fall tour. Folk-rock act Michigan Rattlers got the evening started with a full-throttle set of tunes.

Greensky opened up their first set with “Do Harm”, off of the band’s recently released All For Money album. The quintet moved forward with a cover of Dire Straights‘ “Money For Nothing” before working through originals “Into The Rafters” and “Broken Highways”. Following a cover of The Dillards‘ “Reuben’s Train”, Greensky kept things moving with “Train Junkie”, “Past My Prime”, “While Waiting”, and a set-closing take on “Worried About The Weather”.

Following a brief setbreak, Greensky Bluegrass returned to the stage and opened up their second set with fan-favorite “Reverend” before working through “Ain’t No Bread In The Breadbox”, “Tied Down” “200 Miles From Montana”, and a cover of Cris Jacobs’ “Bone Digger”. Following a twangy rendition of Townes Van Zandt’s “White Freightliner Blues”, the five-piece closed out their second frame with “Burn Them”, “Wish I Didn’t Know”, and “Courage For The Road”. Greensky delivered a lone encore of Bob Dylan‘s “Tonight I’ll Be Staying Here With You”.
