Kick off your Grateful Dead “Fare Thee Well” July 4th weekend with a bang, as Greensky Bluegrass, Keller Williams, and Infamous Stringdusters will join together for a one-night only benefit concert. Called “High Steppin’ Into Town,” a lyric from the classic Dead song “The Music Never Stopped,” the trio will perform at The Chicago Theatre to raise money for the Rex Foundation.

The show is part of The Music Never Stopped series, which is hosting various pre- and post- shows surrounding the 50th anniversary Grateful Dead reunion shows at Soldier Field. On July 2nd, one day before the Grateful Dead shows, these three artists will come together for one great night of music!

Greensky Bluegrass nailed the top spot on our Top Albums of 2014 list with their beautiful release, If Sorrows Swim. The band recently broke out a beautiful “Eyes of the World” cover at DelFest, and show musical ingenuity at every turn. With an ever-growing fanbase, be on the lookout for big things from GSBG.

Meanwhile, both Keller Williams and the Infamous Stringdusters have been rocking around the clock. The two bands teamed up on Halloween 2014 for a “Night of the Living Dead” show, featuring bluegrass takes on Grateful Dead standards. Between Keller Williams’ Grateful Grass, Grateful Gospel and his brand new album Vape, Williams continues to tour rigorously and convey new and meaningful music at every turn.

When these three artists get together, there’s no telling what’s going down. Especially at a benefit show for the Rex Foundation, which has been supporting the music community since 1976, this is going to be one great night of music.
