Greensky Bluegrass is having one of those types of years when everything simply clicks. Their album, If Sorrows Swim, was one of the breakout albums of the year and even made the number one spot of our top 20 albums of 2014. They played an incredible two-night run at Brooklyn Bowl in January and have continued to spread like wildfire in 2015. In one of the more shining moments of their career, the band played a career-defining show last night at Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael, CA with Grateful Dead bassist and idol Phil Lesh.

L4LM’s Top 20 Albums Of 2014

Lesh joined the band mid-way through their second set on electric bass, with Mike Devol playing upright bass, for takes on “All Four”, “Don’t Lie” (both Greensky originals), and covers of the Dead’s “Mr. Charlie”, “Black Muddy River”, and “Franklin’s Tower”. The group ended the night with an encore of “Tonight I’ll Be Staying Here With You” and “Goin’ Down the Road Feeling Bad.”
