Greensky Bluegrass came roaring into Milwaukee, WI on Sunday night as the jamgrass outfit began their three-night New Year’s Eve run at The Riverside.

After receiving opening support from Horseshoes and Hand Grenades, Greensky took the stage ready to deliver for their dedicated fans. It wasn’t until nearly halfway through the first set when the band got a chance to breathe, as they opened up with a non-stop movement of “Just to Lie”> “Don’t Lie”> “33443” > “Wings For Wheels”. The rest of the set saw the band settle into their home for the next couple of nights by playing “Into The Rafters” and “Groundhog”, as the latter transitioned into the Traveling Wilbury‘s “Handle With Care” to close the set.

The second half of the show opened with “200 Miles From Montana” where the band playfully changed the words to “could see the sunrise out over Milwaukee.” Greensky tore through several more originals before inviting Keith Kinnear–a GSBG crew member and frequent collaborator who provided percussion on Shouted, Written Down & Quoted–to the stage to join the band on “Burn Them”. The second set wound down with a sandwich of “Tarpology”> “Gumboots” > “Tarpology”. The band returned for an encore and sent the audience off with a cover of John Hartford‘s “Steam Powered Aero Plane”.
