Greensky Bluegrass brought its 2022 winter tour to a close with a two-night weekend run at The Tabernacle in Atlanta, GA. The Friday and Saturday shows saw the Kalamazoo, MI-bred jamgrass quintet playing alongside The Infamous Stringdusters.
As with much of the tour, Friday and Saturday’s Greensky Bluegrass shows saw the band borrow heavily from its latest LP, Stress Dreams. Released back on January 21st, the 13-track offering displays the latest artistic development for the group over two decades in the making. The album’s themes of growth and maturity rang even clearer on the tour-closing run. Selections from the new disc included “Monument”, “Streetlight”, “Screams”, “Grow Together”, and the title track on the first night alone. Friday also saw the group sandwich nearly the entire first set between “Tarpology”.
Coming back for night two, Greensky had more Stress Dreams tracks to dish out, including the opening “Give a Shit” and the “Reasons to Stay” that followed. Saturday also saw the first “Just Listening” since 9/17/21 (40 shows), per Phantasy Tour. The final set of GSBG’s winter tour came to a fiery conclusion with “Broke Mountain Breakdown” into “Worry for You” and finally “Kerosene”. Paul Hoffman, Dave Bruzza, Michael Bont, Anders Beck, and Mike Devol then finished it off with an encore of “What You Need”.
