In the wake of the tragic attack in New Orleans that left 14 people dead on New Year’s Day, Greensky Bluegrass shared its full show at Tipitina’s on November 12th, 2024 and announced plans to donate 100% of the band’s royalties from nugs streams for the month of January to support the victims and their families.

The show featured guest sit-ins from both NOLA funk legend Ivan Neville and longtime New Orleans resident Anders Osborne. Neville’s special guest appearance came at the end of the first set, with the Dumpstaphunk keyboardist joining in on “Lose My Way” and “Iko Iko”, which Greensky premiered on Thursday before streaming the entire show on Sunday. Osborne later sat in on The Allman Brothers Band‘s “Ain’t Wastin’ Time No More” and his own original song “Pleasin’ You” during the second set.

“It’s always a magical night at Tip’s and November 12 was no different,” GSBG wrote in a social media post. The band went on to announce, “We are donating all of our royalties from Nugs for the month of January to support the New Orleans New Year’s Day Tragedy Fund at the Greater New Orleans Foundation. The fund is the city’s official partner, created to support the families of those whose lives were taken or have been seriously injured and impacted by the tragedy. We encourage you to donate if you are able.”
