The Gretna Heritage Festival, a.k.a Gretna Fest, will bring a lineup filled with heavy-hitting headliners and local New Orleans favorites when it returns to Gretna, LA October 6th–8th, 2023. Announced this week, the fall installment of the long-running NOLA metro-area festival will present sets from Lynyrd SkynyrdKool & The Gang, and Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue.

With the full lineup, organizers revealed the daily headliners for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. On Friday, local hero Trombone Shorty tops the bill alongside sets from Lukas Nelson & Promise of the RealTrampled by Turtles, and Herman’s Hermits Starring Peter Noone.

Come Saturday, Lynyrd Skynyrd will bring “Sweet Home Alabama” to the banks of the Mississippi River on a daily lineup that also features Lee BriceJJ Grey & MofroLos Lobos, and ZZ Ward. Finally, funk/R&B legends Kool & The Gang will close out the festival on Sunday following performances by The TemptationsBlues Traveler, and Ashley McBryde.

The rest of the robust 2023 Gretna Fest lineup includes other nationally touring acts The Original LakesideLiving ColourMike Dillon & Punkadelic, and more. The bulk of the lineup, however, is made up of Louisiana locals including “Soul Queen of New Orleans” Irma Thomas & The ProfessionalsDumpstaphunkThe Iceman SpecialLost Bayou RamblersBoneramaJ & The Causeways, and many other Bayou State favorites.
