Guns N’ Roses have come a long way since their days as wild youths partying up and down Hollywood’s infamous Sunset Strip, as the famous rock band will soon release their first-ever children’s picture book later this year. The 40-page book will be titled Sweet Child o’ Mine after GnR’s famous song from 1987’s Appetite For Destruction and is scheduled to arrive on September 1st via Jimmy Patterson Books.
As Pitchfork reports, the picture book will be that of a collaboration with Patterson, while Jennifer Zivion will provide the story’s illustrations. The story’s narrative overall will follow the lyrics to the popular rock ballad, while the premise will follow the main characters of Maya and Natalia Rose. The two protagonists were inspired by two girls who grew up around the GnR circle being the niece and daughter of the band’s longtime manager Fernando Lebeis.

Guns N’ Roses were scheduled to embark on a 19-city North American stadium tour this summer alongside Smashing Pumpkins, but those shows will no longer take place while the concert industry remains on hiatus.
Fans who were hoping to catch the band on tour this summer can still get their GnR fix with a new SiriusXM channel dedicated exclusively to the rock band which launched back on May 1st.
