Following it’s world premiere at the La Jolla Playhouse, new musical ‘Hands on a Hardbody’ will transition to the Broadway stage for the 2012-13 season, the New York Times reported today. Notably, the musical features music composed for the stage by Phish’s Trey Anastasio, in collaboration with lyricist Amanda Green.
‘Hands on a Hardbody’ is based on the 1997 documentary of the same name, about a real life endurance competition in Texas, where the person who can keep their hands on a truck the longest, takes it home. You can currently catch the preview at the La Jolla Playhouse, while details about the New York debut are to follow.
