Over the weekend, Foo Fighters performed a headlining set at Secret Solstice Festival in Reykjavik, Iceland, which kicked off their 2017 European tour. The show had a number of special moments, including three song debuts for the group: the song debut of “Lah Di Da,” the live debut of the new single “Run,” and the first full band debut of “The Sky Is A Neighborhood”. However, Foo Fighters’ Friday performance also featured another particularly heartwarming debut — the musical debut of Dave Grohl’s eight-year-old daughter who rocked the drums during a cover of Queen’s “We Will Rock You.”

Drummer Taylor Hawkins initially introduced the young drummer, with Hawkins initially saying that he wanted to introduce a special guest and noting to Dave Grohl, “It’s crazy because she has the same last name as you.” After Harper came up on stage, Dave Grohl offered more insight on how the sit-in came to be, saying, “About two weeks ago, my daughter said, ‘Daddy, I want to play the drums.’ And I said, ‘Okay, you want me to teach you?’ and she said, ‘Yes.’ And then I said, ‘Do you want to get up in front of twenty-thousand people in Iceland and play?’ and she said, ‘Yes!’ So ladies and gentlemen, welcome the next generation. There’s another Grohl on the drumset now, and this is the first song she learned.”

To huge cheers from the crowd, Harper Grohl worked through the iconic drum opening of “We Will Rock You,” with Foo Fighters (all sporting huge grins) eventually joining in to finish out the song. You can watch this touching musical moment below, which comes just in time for Father’s Day.
