The long-term effects of Hurricane Helene, which made landfall last week and left large swaths of the Southeast United States devastated, will not be known for some time. The storm and ensuing wreckage claimed more than 100 lives, with hundreds of people still missing after flooding decimated towns, destroyed roads, and cut off power, running water, and cell service for more than a million homes in the region.

Many places, like live music hotspot Asheville, North Carolina, have experienced what the city’s mayor referred to as “catastrophic” outcomes. Some venues in the city, like Salvage Station, were completely destroyed by the storm. Others seem to have avoided the worst of the wreckage, though conditions around the rest of the area will likely put an indefinite pause on tours coming through Asheville and other affected areas.
