The Infamous Stringdusters kicked off 2020 in extraordinary fashion with a sold-out show at Denver, CO’s Mission Ballroom on Saturday night, January 11th. Denver’s own Trout Steak Revival provided opening duties.

The first set delivered many Stringdusters’ staples including “Carry Me Away”, “Gravity” (off the band’s GRAMMY-award winning Laws of Gravity), their beautiful instrumental off Rise Sun, “Cloud Valley”, and covers that included ZZ Top‘s “Sharp Dressed Man” and Phish‘s “Possum”. While the show itself was billed as “The Infamous Stringdusters with Michael Travis and Jason Hann” (both of The String Cheese Incident), the rhythm section did not appear until set two. Travis and Hann performed with the Dusters throughout the second set and encore with highlights including Rise Sun‘s title track, “Planets”, and covers of the String Cheese Incident’s “Restless Wind” and “Bollymonster”. The show was capped off by a rocking cover of the Grateful Dead‘s “Shakedown Street”.

The band continues their tour with a show on January 16th at the Historic Ashland Armory in Ashland, OR, with Yonder Mountain String Band. The two bluegrass groups play three more shows together in Oregon and Washington before the Stringdusters move south through California with a string of four shows, before heading east. Tickets and a full list of dates are available on the band’s website.
