Boundary-pushing livetronic act J.Wail will celebrate the life of Lotus percussionist Chuck Morris with a special show on June 1st at Brooklyn Bowl. Billed as One For Chuck, the guest-filled concert will feature members of Trey Anastasio Band, Twiddle, lespecial, The Motet, Particle, Hive Mind, and more.

Set to appear alongside J.Wail in New York are Natalie Cressman (Trey Anastasio Band), Ryan Dempsey (Twiddle), Luke Bemand (lespecial), Joey Porter (The Motet), Kito B. (Particle), Rohan Prakash and Dave McSweeney (Hive Mind), Scott Hannay (Mihali), and others. Featuring support from Solar Circuit and Microcave, the evening will also include Free Flow Visual Artistry.

In addition to the onstage celebration of Chuck and his son Charley Morris who recently passed away while kayaking on a family trip in Arkansas, the band encourages fans to get involved with the One For Chuck Project. Whether attending or not, fans are asked to email photos and videos of Chuck and Charley to oneforchuck@gmail.com for inclusion in a community video that will play during the Brooklyn Bowl performance. An announcement for the event states that “the tapestry of memories that we all have for these two will be woven together through media and music.”

Tickets for the J.Waill One For Chuck show at Brooklyn Bowl on June 1st are available here. $1 from every ticket sold will go to benefit the Morris family. If you would like to contribute directly to the Morrises head here. June 1st also marks Chuck’s mom’s birthday, “and we are going to throw her one heck of a party!”

Lotus recently staged a pair of benefit concerts for Chuck and Charley at Denver’s The Fillmore, the first of several guest-filled fundraisers on the books. Check out photos and a recap of the event here.
