The Dead Weather have released a new music video for the track “Impossible Winner” off their most recent record Dodge and Burn. In the creepy setting of a crumbly old train, the foursome finds themselves trapped as prisoners to a traveling circus – them being the stars of the freakshow. The black and white dreamland includes nightmarish images of each band member performing their roles in response to the harassing wranglers. Find out what makes them so intriguing in this new video, below:

Much like a touring band who sells their talents for entertainment, the freakshow scenario brings metaphorical truth to the depressing lyrics. With “dragging” as a central theme to the “Impossible Winner”, the lines are repeated: “To everything that’s come and gone / I need distraction / Give me a form in between / Everything I’ve ever seen / Don’t be long / I’m no beginner / I’ll be here every night / My name up in lights”.
