Jack White has just been added to the performance roster for this year’s Grammys. While details of his performance haven’t been released as of yet, there are rumors that White would like to collaborate with other guitarists. The Black Keys, who are among the performers already confirmed for the awards, seem likely. This may appear intriguing to those who have heard of the controversy between the White Stripes and Black Keys which occurred a few years ago and was briefly mentioned by Rolling Stone. White was quoted as saying “I’m a lot more to do with Jay-Z than the Black Keys.” It had also been mentioned that Jack White blocked the Black Keys frontman Dan Auerbach from entering his Third Man Records studio in Nashville.
Jack White is up for 3 Grammys including Album of the Year and Best Rock Album for his most recent release, Blunderbuss. His song “Freedom at 21″ is in the running for Best Rock Song.
The 55th Grammys will take place on February 10th and will be hosted by LL Cool J. Performances will also include Taylor Swift, Mumford & Sons, fun. & Rihanna. Also added to the lineup were The Lumineers and Carrie Underwood. English singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran will be playing on stage with Elton John for the very first time. A Dierks Bentley/Miranda Lambert duet will also take place.
