In 2018, singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Jackie Greene released a 6-song EP entitled The Modern Lives Vol 2., the second EP of the series. Jackie has long collaborated with many of the greats in the jam band scene, including Phil Lesh & Friends and The Black Crowes, but over the past year he’s focused his efforts on his own music and band.

Recently, Jackie Greene released a new video for “Fragile And Wanting”, a ballad off of The Modern Lives Vol 2. EP. Directed by Anthony Simpkins of GemsOnVHS, the video features clips of a family at a carnival, while bouncing back and forth between a band made up of multiple versions of Greene singing and playing all of the instruments, in similar fashion to how he recorded the record.

Jackie Greene shared his thoughts on the song with Relix, explaining,

Like most romantics, I’ve always been a sucker for a sappy ballad. Especially the kind you listen to privately, on headphones. This is that type of song. Meant to be enjoyed alone. On headphones. But, if you end up blasting it in your car while you cruise around on the weekend, that’s cool too. You might get some funny looks, though.
