On July 27th and 28th, The Chase Brothers of Adam and Matt Chase will bring two of their stellar, fan-favorite tributes to the East Coast for a two-night run across New York City and Philadelphia. For these two shows, the all-star band will pay tribute to classic funk icons James Brown and Sly & The Family Stone, with The Chase Brothers leading The James Brown Dance Party and A Family Affair: A Tribute To Sly & The Family Stone each night.
Billed as “The Summer FUNKtion”, James Brown Dance Party and A Family Affair first hit New York City’s NuBlu on July 27th, which will also feature support from DJ BOOMTOWN, who will be spinning classic tracks from Michael Jackson and Prince. Tickets to Friday night’s show available here. The next night, on July 28th, the Summer FUNKtion heads to Philadelphia for a performance at World Cafe Live. Saturday night tickets available here.
Led by The Chase Brothers, Adam and Matt Chase, the all-star tribute to the Godfather of Soul will also feature Chris Rob (Talib Kweli, Craig Robinson’s Nasty Delicious), Felix Pastorius (Mike Clark, Jeff Coffin), Michelle Willis (David Crosby, Becca Stevens), and Adam Dotson (Rubblebucket, Slavic Soul Party). For the New York City performances, Snarky Puppy‘s Chris Bullock and Justin Stanton will be on hand, while Cory Riker (John Legend, Seal) and James Cage (Jay-Z, Stevie Wonder, Pharell) will sub in during the next night’s show in Philly.
