Members of James Brown Band, Prince, & More To Celebrate NYE With Two James Brown Dance Parties

On Sunday, December 31, CEG & Live For Live Music are excited to present two shows from The James Brown Dance Party, a star-studded tribute to the king of funk at the Gramercy Theatre. Dubbed “the funkiest all star tribute in show business,” the band will perform both shows in one night in celebration of the New Year, starting with The Fritz at 9pm and followed by a Phish After-Party at 1:30am. The James Brown Dance Party is a rotating All-Star cast of musicians, led by The Chase Brothers, Adam and Matthew Chase (Jazz Is PHSH). Both presentations will feature Fred Thomas (James Brown, The JBs), Mousey Thompson (James Brown), Amy Christian (James Brown), Maurice “Mobetta” Brown (Tedeschi Trucks Band, The Roots), Jay Rodriguez (Prince), Mark Williams (Chuck Brown, Kool & The Gang), and Jamar Woods (The Fritz), alongside the Chase Brothers. When a group of all-stars like this get together, there’s no predicting what will happen–but this show is sure to be the funkiest all-star tribute in town! Tickets are currently available for the 9pm show here and the 1:30am show here.

The James Brown Dance Party is a rotating All-Star cast of musicians that keeps the amazing music of James Brown alive and well by combining the old school players that shared the stage with James Brown with more contemporary musicians. Previous years have proved that the James Brown Dance Party is one you don’t want to miss, especially on New Year’s Eve! Tickets are currently available for the 9pm show here and the 1:30am show here.
