It’s official: Jamiroquai has announced their one and only NYC date! The boogie-down will take place at the original home of the U.S. Open tennis tournament, Forest Hills Stadium, in Queens, New York on Saturday, September 8.

After last week’s hints from promoters Madison House Presents, who posted several pictures of the space cowboy silhouette heading from Manhattan to the E Train”, we can now safely say that it is really happening–marking the band’s first show in the New York area in nearly 13 years and second officially announced hard-ticket U.S. headlining date (not including their festival appearance at Coachella).

The British funk and jazz heroes, famous for hits like “Virtual Insanity” and “Cosmic Girl” and widely respected for their deeper cuts, recently announced a show at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, CA on April 17th. Aside from their Coachella headlining performances (April 13 & April 20), these venue-specific performances in New York and San Francisco will mark the first time the group has performed their own show in the United States since November of 2005.

About a year ago, in the middle of January 2017, Jamiroquai announced their triumphant return after years outside the spotlight. In March of last year, the group released their eighth studio album, Automaton, a follow-up to 2010’s Rock Dust Light Star. To complement their new album, Jamiroquai embarked on a global tour in 2017, hitting Tokyo and Seoul in addition to major cities across Europe. However, North American cities were conspicuously left off of Jamiroquai’s 2017 comeback tour, leading many to hope that 2018 would see the group hit the U.S.

After Coachella announced that Jamiroquai would perform at the 2018 California music festival, rumors of more North American tour dates began to grow, as promoters on the West Coast, as well as band members themselves, heavily hinted at more headlining dates to come. Now, we’re confirmed with headlining shows on both coasts, and recent developments point toward even more exciting plans in the works.

On Friday, Suwanee Hulaween revealed the dates for their 2018 festival with a short animated video and snuck in a massive hint that points to Jamiroquai as their 2018 headliners. In the clip, the band’s familiar silhouette symbol appears in the corner of the frame, suggesting that Jamiroquai will be performing at the sixth annual event.

Tickets to Jamiroquai’s show Forest Hills Stadium will be available to the public on Friday, March 23 at 10am EST.
